What i did and did not do at Nationals…
Saying Hi after taking a well deserved break in a blow up hot tub.
It’s a little dark, but the lower right is the take pen. Just in front of that is Lake Big Scary. In the upper left hand corner is The Lake at Obstacle Two. One handler gave up on footwear completely and trialed in socks, and later in socks and shorts.
This handler ended up going down at the Lake at Obstacle Two. Upon returning through the metal gates, she all but collapsed on the pallets and her dog (all the wet nasty fantastic of him) stood on top and licked her face. Probably one of my favorite moments.
This was the crew of handlers waiting for the Hoosier ASC pre-trials awards.
I made lots of notes and tracked dogs. When I wasn’t running around the arena while eating a cheese burger, or getting blown into the arena in a sad attempt to hold the giant metal doors closed. I really did like working the door, again. 😉
This is Ken, Raenell Doyle and Betty Williams. Raenell was the winner of Most Promising Started at the Hoosier Pre-Trial. It is SO fun to watch our local handlers go to Nationals and tear it up.
I had a great bubble wand too. Though i have to say i’m not sure which was more odd – that people i didn’t know were asking where my tutu was or that people that did know me seemed completely unfazed by the presence of tiara and bubble wand. Apparently, i need to show up next time in full costume.
The crown didn’t get me nearly as much attention as this t-shirt i got from Michelle Berryessa. She’s such an enabler.
I did roam out of stock occasionally, and ended up hanging out with Sally, Anne and Dave in Agility. They’re a relate-able sort of crazy.
This is Finnish Salted Licorice. It is *fantastic*, and of course not available in the US.
I know this sounds strange, but they are *awesome*. Almost better than ketsup chips.
While awesome… the Apricot Habanero is more Habenero than Apricot. HOWEVER, we did test drive some homemade caramel whiskey and candy corn vodka – both are awesome. If you’re around Greeley Colorado, they are must trys.
After years of working in a brewery, it was SUPER interesting to do a distillery tour.
In the background is Dan Sanderson’s Diesel – awesome dog. But yeah, no rest for the wicked, or the ADD.
Radar ended up being a better timer than i was sometimes… i got lost watching the runs every once in a while.
It’s hard to be Molly and Simon.
And there were the puppies…. All the beautiful puppies.
