What a happy girl!

Molly ARPH#8575 Needs Your Help

Molly and her foster brother Simon escaped from the yard in their foster home on September 10, 2007. While Simon's injuries were thankfully mild, Molly has taken a sever blow to the head. She spent 4 days under 24 hour Veterinary care at VCA Alpine Animal Hospital where she made huge strides. She is now continuing to improve while under the care of an experienced foster home, but she will need many more vet visits. Her prognosis is guarded. However, she has full movement of her legs and her physical body. Her poor brain just needs time to heal. Molly has always been a strong girl. Between playing rough with foster brother Simon who is twice her size, or taking on the evil squeaky toy, she has proven herself to be solid of temperament, body and soul. We hope very much that she will recover enough to enjoy tumbling with her foster brother again. He misses her very much.

Updates!

I've moved Molly's updates to the DogBlog!

History of Molly

Molly came into the ARPH program via the Thurston County Animal Shelter. She was released to the shelter by a rancher who couldn't stop her from chasing the stock. She was placed in a loving foster home who immediately recognized her potential. She was bright, energetic and biddable with a wonderful disposition with people and other dogs. Her foster home had her instinct tested with a local herding instructor and she passed with flying colors! When the opportunity presented its self to go to eastern Washington with an ARPH volunteer who had herding experience, all agreed this was a great opportunity. Molly immediately won the heart of the ARPH volunteer, and her herding friend. She is a natural on sheep and cows and easy to work. You can see video of Molly learning to work sheep below!
